Endoscopic Culture Swab

Endoscopic swabs use an endoscope’s lumen channel in completing the procedure of swabbing potentially infected areas examined via an endoscope. Secured samples are transferred onto culture media or used in other diagnostic procedures. Swab’s selection is based upon the endoscope length used by the practitioner.

• Designed to allow culturing through the biopsy channel
• Outer guarded tube helps protect the central swab from contamination upon insertion
• Distal end of tube has a water-soluble plug which is removed before taking the sample
• Calcium alginate swabs are attached to a stainless steel wire
• Calcium alginate fiber head for low pathogen toxicity
• Swab length easily reduced, with forceps provided, for transport after taking culture
