Trainee executing an equine dental

For equine practitioners looking to expand their knowledge in dentistry, the Advanced Oral Techniques for the Horse 2025 training course will be held October 13-16, 2025, at Midwest Veterinary Dental Services in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.

The continuing education (CE) course is one of the only equine dentistry trainings available in the country with three boarded veterinarians leading the labs. Participants will work with various equine dental equipment on both cadavers and live horses and learn how to properly diagnose oral pathology and balance the typical equine mouth using hand and motorized instruments.

During the three-day in-person training, attendees can connect with fellow equine practitioners and instructors to share ideas and expand their networks. The sessions are divided into groups of four students per instructor, offering excellent opportunities for more individualized instruction. Following the training, attendees have access to a private social media group where they can continue to stay engaged.

Continuing Education Credits

The course is approved for 21 hours of CE credit in jurisdictions that recognize the American Association of Veterinary State Boards’ (AAVSB) Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE) approval. Participants should be aware that some boards limit the number of hours accepted in certain categories and/or restrict certain methods of delivering continuing education.
